About New Creation Counseling

New Creation Counseling of Acadiana was founded to provide clinically excellent, evidence-based counseling that honors the dignity and worth of every person while fostering growth,  restoration, and healthy relationships.

Our Story

New Creation Counseling of Acadiana grew from years of conversations, professional  experience, prayer, and a deepening love for the communities we call home. Kara Clark and her  husband, Cullen, had envisioned building a practice together for many years. New Creation  became an opportunity to bring that vision to life by combining a commitment to their  community with clinically excellent counseling and a Christian understanding of people,  relationships, and restoration.

As a licensed clinical social worker, Kara brings extensive training in trauma, attachment, and  evidence-based treatment. Cullen, a pastor, historian, and co-owner of the practice, has helped  shape New Creation's commitment to community, relationships, and a deeper understanding of  what it means to flourish as human beings. Together, they share a vision of providing counseling  that honors the dignity and worth of every person while remaining grounded in both professional  excellence and the Christian faith.

At New Creation, we believe counseling is about more than reducing symptoms. It is an  opportunity to walk alongside people as they navigate life's challenges, strengthen relationships,  build resilience, and move toward restoration. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds and  respect each person's goals, beliefs, and pace. For those who desire it, faith can be thoughtfully  integrated into the counseling process.

Whether someone is facing trauma, grief, anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, or  simply needs a place to process a difficult season, our desire is to provide a place where people  feel safe, respected, and genuinely cared for.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide clinically excellent, evidence-based counseling that honors the dignity  and worth of every person while fostering restoration, healthy relationships, personal growth,  and renewed hope.

Our Vision

We envision individuals flourishing, relationships being strengthened, families growing healthier,  and communities marked by resilience, purpose, and hope.

Our Values

Faithfulness

We are committed to honoring God in the way we care for people, integrating our Christian faith  with professional integrity and clinical excellence.

Relationship

We cultivate relationships marked by dignity, respect, compassion, and genuine care because we  believe people flourish in the context of healthy relationships.

Safety

We seek to create an environment where people feel emotionally, relationally, and physically safe  enough to engage honestly in the counseling process and pursue meaningful growth.

Clinical Excellence

We are committed to lifelong learning, ethical practice, and evidence-based care that reflects the  highest standards of our profession.

Hope

We believe restoration is possible and that every person has the capacity to continue growing,  even in the presence of suffering.

Our Symbol

The Olive Branch

The olive branch was chosen as the symbol of New Creation Counseling because of its rich history as a symbol of peace, hope, and restoration. It reminds us that seasons of loss, uncertainty, and hardship do not have the final word. Hope remains, restoration is possible, and  relationships can be renewed. It reflects our commitment to providing a place where people are  cared for with compassion, clinical excellence, and enduring hope.

Like the olive branch itself, we believe peace is not found in the absence of hardship, but in the  presence of faithful relationships, enduring hope, and the possibility of restoration.

A Safe Place to Begin.

When you're ready, we'll take time to understand your story and help you determine the next step  that's right for you.
