Counseling begins by understanding your story.
Specialized Services at New Creation
Children don't always have the words to express what they're thinking or feeling. Instead, their experiences often show up through behavior, emotions, relationships, or challenges at home and school.
At New Creation Counseling, we believe every child's story matters. Counseling begins by taking time to understand your child's unique experiences, relationships, strengths, and needs. Through play, connection, and developmentally appropriate interventions, we help children better understand their emotions, develop healthy coping skills, strengthen relationships, and build the confidence to navigate life's challenges.

We are shaped by both the difficult experiences we've lived through and the relationships we've experienced along the way. Trauma may affect emotions, relationships, behavior, physical well being, and a person's sense of safety—sometimes long after the experience itself has ended.
At New Creation Counseling, we believe meaningful growth begins by understanding your story. Trauma-informed counseling starts by building trust and creating a relationship where you feel seen, understood, and safe enough to move forward at a pace that respects your needs. Rather than asking, "What's wrong with you?" we seek to understand, "What has happened to you, and how has it shaped your life?"
Treatment is individualized and grounded in evidence-based practices. Together, we'll work to better understand the impact of trauma, strengthen your sense of safety, develop healthy coping skills, process difficult experiences when appropriate, and build the capacity to navigate life's challenges with greater resilience and hope.
Trauma-Informed Counseling May Help You:
• Better understand the impact of trauma
• Reduce emotional distress
• Develop healthy coping and regulation skills
• Strengthen your sense of safety
• Improve relationships
• Process difficult memories when appropriate
• Rebuild trust
• Move forward with greater resilience and hope
Healing doesn't require telling your entire story all at once. We'll move at a pace that respects your readiness, goals, and clinical needs while working together toward meaningful and lasting growth.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process distressing experiences that continue to affect people in the present. It is commonly used to address trauma, anxiety, painful memories, and other forms of emotional distress.
At New Creation Counseling, EMDR is never a one-size-fits-all approach. We take time to understand your story, your goals, and your readiness before determining whether EMDR is an appropriate part of your treatment. When it is, EMDR is thoughtfully integrated into a personalized treatment plan that reflects your unique needs and circumstances.
Kara Clark is an EMDR Certified Therapist with specialized training in the treatment of trauma and attachment-related concerns. She will work collaboratively with you to determine whether EMDR is an appropriate part of your treatment plan.
The first step is simply a conversation.
